my favorite space
“I really like raw space—the whole experience of going into a building that’s full of construction debris, noise, and potential. At Ligne Roset, we often consult with luxury real estate developers to furnish common spaces and model apartments, so I get to walk through a lot of works in progress. You always wonder how the project will turn out: Will this be one of the spaces that sings? Or is it going to let you down, like a disappointing first date? This condo building, designed by Robert A.M. Stern, is on Fifth Avenue at the northern tip of Central Park at 110th Street. The views from the upper stories go clear to Hoboken. The atrium level will house the new Museum for African Art. Right now, the space is wide open—but full of promise.”
