Obama's Runway to Win Competition
New York City textile designer Lori Weitzner is one of three winners of Obama's Runway to Win Competition. The competition asked for volunteer artists and designers from across the country to submit their best Obama inspired designs. Weitzner's ingenious entry consisted of using her hand-woven Newsworthy wallcovering to spell out Obama. Newsworthy is made of 100% newsprint "upcycled" from international newspapers and is also housed in the permanent collection at the Cooper Hewitt. See below for the results of Weitzner's creative process!
