NYIGF 2012

The twice-annual NY International Gift Fair will be open until February 2, 2012 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The show is open to the trade only and draws an estimated 35,000 attendees from all 50 states and 85 countries. The NYIGF showcases lines and trends across the home, lifestyle and gift spectrum. There are always standouts, but today we are highlighting Merge Ware, Inc.—a Cold Spring, New York-based maker of porcelain-and-walnut cups designed by master woodworker Thomas Ryan Barkman and potter Nancy Bauch.

Nancy Bauch and Thomas Ryan Barkman are two radically different designers who have merged their talents to create visionary products. While Nancy’s works strive for sustainability and take inspiration from the natural elements of the earth, Thomas aims for structure, high quality craftsmanship and engineering. Together, the two have created beautiful and functional products by combining the best qualities of their individual lines.
